Jinseok Jang earned a Bachelor Degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1975 from Seoul National University in Korea, and Master and Ph.D Degrees in Aerospace Engineering in 1988 from the University of Maryland in the States.
In March 1975, Jinseok Jang joined the Agency for Defense Development(ADD) Korea, performing system integration and trajectory simulation of guided missile. He also conducted configuration design, performance, and stability & control analysis of unmanned air vehicle.
Rejoining ADD in December 1988, he served for five years, as system management chief and later program manager of reconnaissance UAV Development Program. Except that period, he has mostly conducted rotorcraft research and development in ADD. Activities include technical reviews on user's helicopter requirements for all the services, creating and managing the basic research topics on rotorcraft and Korean Multi-role Helicopter(KMH) conceptual design as a head of Rotorcraft Technology Department.
Currently, he is working on Korean Helicopter Program(KHP) Technical Management Office as a Principal Researcher where he performs reviewing the relevant specification documents, establishing airworthiness qualification process and supporting the system integration team.
