Omri Rand


Omri Rand graduated from the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in 1980, where he received his D.Sc degree in 1985 and currently serves as Professor and Dean. During 1986-7 he was a Research Associate, at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, University of Maryland, and during1993-4 was a Resident Research Associate, at the Advanced Systems Research & Analysis Office of the U.S. Army at Ames Research Center.

Dr. Rand research effort ranges over analytical methods in anisotropic elasticity, modeling of composite helicopter blades, rotorcraft and rotary-wing theory, helicopter vibration suppression, helicopter stability augmentation and helicopters faults detection and identification. In 2005 he coauthored the book "Analytical Methods in Anisotropic Elasticity" that was published by Birkhauser-Springer.

Dr. Rand has led many research tasks within the framework of the US/Israel Memorandum of Agreement, and served as a consultant for the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Israeli Air Force, Elbit Systems and other R&D institutions.
