AHS Forum --- Call for papers

AHS 65th Annual Forum and Technology Display, May 27--29, 2009, Grapevine, TX / Vertical Flight History Session
The AHS History Committee seeks scholarly papers and first-hand accounts that facilitate the preservation and understanding of vertical flight history. Of particular interest are papers documenting important but not well known developments in vertical flight technologies or vehicles, including the rediscovery of forgotten pioneers, or events involved in understanding specific phenomena. Personal involvement in the subject matter or extensive research and documentation are highly desirable. Exceptions can be made from the no-paper/no-podium policy for first-hand accounts.

Abstracts are due to the Session Chair, Bruce Charnov, by Saturday, October 11, 2008. Please see the official Forum website for further details.

For examples of papers from previous years, see the Publications section of this website.

Rotary-Wing History website

The History Committee has created a website, helicopter-history.org, as a means for disseminating some of the accumulated knowledge of the committee membership for interested parties to facilitate further study in the field of rotary wing and VTOL history. With the generally poor quality of online information, this website is intended to provide primary source material for research, preservation and interpretive programs in the subject field.
